Giorgia Meloni and the sneakers
The new Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni loves sneakers and is immediately fashion.
Giorgia Meloni: flat shoes, preferably sneakers (she has all the colors: white the most used but also gold, black, blue), combined not only with trousers, but also with long pleated skirts; soft colors, from beige to gray to blue, soft sweaters like trousers, or wide or with turn-ups.
On 1 October the leader of the Brothers of Italy, visiting for example the Coldiretti village at the Castello Sforzesco in Milan, showed off a blue double-breasted jacket, simple cut jeans, white sneakers and matching under-jacket, no accessories.
On Sunday 23 October 2022, the day of the inauguration of the new government, the neo-premier arrived at Palazzo Chigi with comfortable derby shoes, while for the exchange with his predecessor Mario Draghi he wore a more elegant pair of black pumps with low heels.
The future premier, in short, prefers more casual clothing to classic suits (except on occasions that require it, of course). On the other hand, ultra-luxury bags that do not represent made in Italy are banned. Few accessories on the wrist: space only for some frivolity, like a high rhinestone bracelet, but of costume jewelery.
The first woman premier in Italy has put aside clothes, designer bags and expensive accessories for some to get closer to the people and the electorate for others simply for convenience, showing a salient aspect of her character: practicality and pragmatism.
