In a moment of energy crisis, organic farming also allows to cut energy consumption by a third through the use of less intensive techniques, short supply chains and the renunciation of synthetic chemical fertilizers produced with the use of gas, also increased 170% and which are mainly produced in Russia.
They range from the use of natural substances and 100% made in Italy to fertilize the land to the reuse of production waste (leaves, shells, straw, etc.) to guarantee clean energy, up to the strengthening of short supply chains with direct sales that breaks down transport.
In this way it is possible to reduce energy consumption by an average of 30% compared to traditional agriculture but in some cases, such as apples, for example, it even reaches -45%.
